In her shoes

My friend Charles came to visit me in North Carolina last week and we had a date night on Saturday night. It started with a movie. We went and saw "In Her Shoes". It was great from start to finish. Cameron Diaz (who in most things I can't stand) was great in the role of the younger sister who is kind of lost in life. Her character reminded me of myself at a certain time in my life and now reminds me of others i know who have simply not moved past that point....will they ever? Anyway, Toni Collette was brilliant! She always is. Has anyone seen Connie and Carla? I love this woman! She was the older , more responsible sibling. I love how she can be dumpy one minute and insanely foxy the next. Then there is Shirley MaClaine. I have to give this woman some major props. Some women her age in the biz just get hit with a touch of crazy by this point in their career and make really bad choices. Shirley is beautiful in this as the long lost detached grandmother.

Now I ask you, who loves to laugh and cry during the same movie? If thats you, check it out. If you have a sister...go see it with her. love you Sunshine!

Confessions on a dance floor

I just want to make sure everyone knows that Madonna's new album "confessions on a dance floor" comes out November 15th. The new single "hung up" is currently being played on radio and is excellent. You should call and request! Who does that anymore though? Anyway-she samples an ABBA tune in it and its good beats with catchy lyrics. And just brilliant, as we have come to expect from Madge. Not to mention she looks hot in her liatard (is that how you spell that?) on the cover. My friend Erika and I have a count down going until the album is released. 20 more days! She is perhaps one of the biggest Madonna's fans I have met and I love it. We are on tour together and in anticipation of the new album we slated November 15th Madonna Day, everyday until then there is a song of the day. Yesterday was "keep it together" from the "Like a prayer" album and today is "Hanky Panky" from "breathless". Feel free to sing the song whenever and where ever you please today. I find it nice to get a sing along going in line at the grocery store. Give it a shot! 20 days to go!

H20 overflow

so last night I had some people over to my room and we played drinking games and listen to some music and danced and made fools of ourselves. Everyone left around 2:00a.m. and I went to bed around 2:30. Well, I had drank a lot of beer so I woke up around 4:00a.m. to pee. Um....I flushed the toilet and it overflowed. Overflowed so much that water went OUT of the bathroom and into the room. In an effort not to wake my roomie I went to the front desk and asked for a plunger...um....can you believe that at 4:oo in the morning there is NO plunger avaliable because it's "Locked up" with housekeeping stuff? It is now 1:00 in the afternoon and I just fixed the toilet at NOON!!! All is well now.

Pizza Hut & dumpster fires-Macon, GA

I arrived in Macon, GA this evening after a very long travel day. A group of us decided to go to the pizza hut we saw about 5 or 6 blocks away from the hotel. On the walk there we noticed a dumpster on fire, we were about to call 911 and then a guy walking by said that it was a BBQ pit for the restaraunt there, so, we continued on our way. We arrive at pizza hut and ask what kind of beer they have to which the waitress responds "I can tell you but i have to see your I.D.'s first" um....at what age is it illegal to hear a list of beers recited by a waitress? Of course a strange look came over all of our faces at which point the waitress went on to tell us why they have to I.D. everybody. Those of you that know me know I have waited tables at like 5 different places, so her trying to "inform" me of the law annoyed me, and others thoroughly. After we ordered beers and they were brought to the table we were told we had to pay for the beers now and we can pay for the rest later. A rule of theirs that is now in effect due to people guzzling and walking out. We all felt as though that was a little much. Then we ordered a large specialty pizza and there medium one topping pizza for 25 cents, a special they have right now. We added an extra ingredient to the pizza and it came with only one ingredient and the waitress told us AFTER the pizza came that because of the special we can only have one ingredient even if we pay extra. We specifically asked her if we could add the other ingredient! Then she brought my friend Chereese a pizza she didnt order and when setting it on the table she spilled my beer on my lap. At this point a fire in the parking lot started in the dumpster. And some random lady asked us on her way out if we wanted her to pick us anything up at the convience store. what!?!? What is going on in Macon, GA!?!?!? We also saw another fire on the way home. Normally when the fire alarm goes off in a hotel we ignore it. Tonight, we all made an agreement that we wouldn't think twice and RUN if the alarm goes off at the hotel. One more week and then I get a week off! Anyone got Georgia on their mind? I strongly advice you NOT taking a midnight train to get here.

Travel Days....

Today's date is Monday October 24th. Every Monday on this tour is a "travel day". A travel day can be easy or a travel day can be a mess. Today was probably the worst one I have ever experienced. The bus ride was supposed to be maybe 4 hours. It turned into 10. we were on the bus for maybe 3 hours and then went to lunch and 30 minutes after we got back on the road a beeping noise was heard and then....the bus just stopped. Someone said something about gas in the oil tank, nobody knows. Anyway, a bus didnt come to get us until almost 5 hours later. We were stuck on the side of the highway in the middle of nowhere in Gergia. We made the most of it...peeing in the woods...eating oreos and reeses peanut butter cups for dinner....and playing fun games like "M.A.S.H." and "Hangman". Good times! Eventually we were rescued by another bus and places safely in the most shady part of Macon, GA. Woohoo!

Desperate VS. Grey's

Okay all I have to say is last week "GA" kicked "DH's" ass and that was really dissapointing, yet, exciting to me at the same time. I have been saying that by the time GA comes on I am to tired to really focus my attention on it. But it last week it was awesome. Fortunatley this week DH and GA were of equal verve. At least I thought. Lynnette and Bree had their own special moments which always makes my night. And then GA just keeps getting better and better. I hope they keep it up! Who is everyone's Favorite Desperate Housewives character and why? I'm seriously really interested. Mine is Lynette, simply put, her shit is bananas!

Cousin's

So...I'm in Charlotte, NC. My cousin Chad lives just across the way in South Carlolina. This picture to the right is not a picture of me and Chad. But it is in fact a picture of two cousins, i found it on the net. I dont have one of me and Chad so i just found this one-just use your imagination! Anyway, I had the privilage of going to his home last night and visiting with My Aunt Char and Uncle Rodger who are visiting Chad and his fiance Lori. They just got engaged-Congrats! He has a wonderful house and I had a great time. They let me do my laundry and in turn I made dinner.I Also got to meet his dog Rigley who was a handful but a great dog. The only sad part of this visit was that I got to see Chad for maybe 15 minutes. He is extremly busy this week with work and got home at 11. I went to bed shortly after and when i got up this morning he had already returned to work. Never the less, it was great to see him no matter how brief it was. I look forward to seeing Him and Lori and the rest of my family at Christmas!

ZAXBY'S!

Has anyone out there ever heard of "Zaxby's". I'm sure you can guess by the chicken in the pictiure thats its a chicken place. Beyond that, it's just plain wonderful! I only went once and had a grilled chicken salad with house low fat vinegarete. It was THE BEST grilled chicken salad I have ever had with THE BESt dressing-and low fat at that! And only $5, with garlic toast! We pulled into the parking lot to turn around (this was last week in Florida) and we were looking for food. It didnt look like a fast food place so we were about to pass it when we saw the had a drive through. We decided to go inside and it was the most friendly and clean atmosphere i have ever expereinced as far as fast food is concerned. Eat there if one should ever cross your path!

LEAVING FLORIDA!!!!

I am ever so pleased to announce that as of Monday morning i will be departing from this place known to everyone else in world as Florida. I myself refer to it, still, as my very own personal hell. One should be so lucky. I have spent 5 weeks here and I cant wait for Monday morning! During this time I have been eatin alive by bugs and have almost sweat to my death in every venue we have played in. On the up side, um...., lets see....well, I DID enjoy Fort Lauderdale...kinda. My last day here will be a pleasent one. We have two shows tomorrow and for the first one I will be playing Professor Art and for the second one I get to "sit out". Yes! A "sit out" is exactly what it sound like, every cast memeber gets one, you get to "sit out" and your understudy goes in for you. You get to watch all of your co-workers hard at work while you sit in the front row with a fun little Elmo spinny flahlighty thing and eat popcorn, then at intermission you come back and look at everyone sweating and tell them the show looks fabulous! It's good times, last year I had mine in Vegas. Hey! What do you know!?! Also one of my least favorite places! Am I sensing a pattern? Hope everyone is well! Only a few more southern states left for me and just about the time I get up north Fall will be over and we will be onto winter....ah well.

This one's for Amanda!

Here's the picture i promised Amanda. This was taken in Atlanta about a month ago. You gonna vote for shirley? I'm gonna vote for Shirley! I feel like Destiny's Child in it only I'm missing two girls! Love you Amandaramma!

Beaches the novel...can it get any more gay???

Yes....it can. But seriously, Beaches has ALWAYS been one of my major gayeties. Love the movie-love, love LOVE it! I watch it at least once a year. You really can't watch it more than that cuz if you do you cant really pretend you dont know whats gonna happen. It has everything a gay guy needs, Bette Midler, musical theatre, death and a nice cat fight between Bette and Barbra Hershey. ANYWAY. I have been a fan of the movie for years and always wanted to read the book. Well, I could never find it because it was out of print. Finally, I found a used copy on Amazon.com and I just finished reading it. Once I could get use to a couple of the name changes I was on my way. The book I would say is better than the movie but...the movie has Bette. So, it was just as good as the movie and at times possibly better. Comprimise eh? So, if you are a fan of the movie, as I am, the book is definatly worth the read. At least this gay man thinks so.

Losing a contact lense...

Okay, so have you ever lost a contact lense and you end up having (without asking) about 3 people on the ground trying to help you find it? Well...I wear glasses in the show and a sports strap is attached to these glasses so they dont fall off. At intermission i hook the sports strap to a HUGE fan backstage so it can air out and then I go to the dressing room and change for ACT 2. When I came back to the fan today backstage my sports strap was gone. My stage manager called "5 minutes!". At 5 all th performers must get into full Muppet gear. Well, my strap had appaterently blew away and the only place it could have blown was into this mad mass of black electrical chords. Did I mention the strap is black? needle in a haystack. As I stand over the pile looking, one by one muppets started to help me look. Um....This was really funny for me. And as I finish typing this i realize nobody will except myself will see the humor.Picture it! All these muppets huddled around backstage looking for a black "chord" in with abunch of other black chords. picture it! I swear, it was hilarious!

seriously reading...and it feels so good.

So, I really am reading a lot these days. I used to take me months to finish a book. I find myself finishing them in a week or so lately. For me thats pretty amazing. Anyway, the latest was the most current release from my favorite author. I had to wait a year to read it because I had to wait for it to go paperback, traveling with a hardcover book is simply ridiculous. Anyway, this was by far my favorite from David Sedaris. "Dress your family in corduroy and denim" was a very solid read from start to finish. In his other books i usually reach the middle and hit a lul for a couple chapters and get really bored. Not with this one. I love David Sedaris and even more I love his sister Amy Sedaris (co-creator of comedy central's Strangers With Candy). So to hear him talk about his family is so interesting to me, not to mention hilarious! He blur's the lines between fiction and reality and it has you guessing what is true and what is frabricated truth. Either way he kept me laughing the entire time. I love this man! Read it-I dare you.

I got a new Attitude!

So....as some of you may have noticed in the last couple weeks I have been rather down on my life, job and living situation. Sometimes you have to step back and realize....it's all YOU. And only YOU can make a change, so as of today-I got a new attitude! I'm a really lucky guy and while I do feel like the baby in the picture above at times, only I can change that. So....here I go..."I'm lookin at the man in the mirror, i'm askin' him to change his ways".

Muzzy Van Hausimeir

This is my cat.....I LOVE MY CAT! His name is Muzzy, Muzzy Van Hausimeir to be exact. Now i know some of you may think that is a strange name for a boy but i didnt really know he was a boy until after I had him for a few months. Long Story, the guys got a lot of fur and I dont really go searchin'for my cats parts, you know what I mean? Anyway, I miss him terribly and wanted to introduce him to everyone. So everyone, this is Muzzy....Muzzy, everyone.

This by no means makes me a cat lover, just to clear that up. Muzzy and I actually both loathe other cats all together-thats what makes us such a great family.
